The Queensland Household Gambling Survey 2006-2007

The Queensland Household Gambling Survey is a population survey of 30,000 Queenslanders which explores gambling activity and the prevalence of problem gambling in the State. The full Survey Report and 8 Fact Sheets are currently available for download.

Information on the prevalence of persons who do not gamble, who gamble recreationally, who may be experiencing gambling realted problems or who may be at risk of experiencing such problems.

The recreational gambling group accounts for the majority of the Queensland adult population, with more than 67% of adults or just under 2 million people identified as recreational gamblers.
Fact Sheet 3 - Low risk and Moderate risk gambling April 2008 pdf download (120 K) no
There are some 220,000 or 7.5% of the adult population who may be at risk of experiencing gambling related problems. People in the low and moderate risk gambling groups are unlikely to have experienced any gambling related problems but may be at varying levels of risk experiencing problems.

The problem gambling group includes adults who may be gambling to an extent that problems have emerged which are affecting themselves or others around them. This group accounts for approximately 14,000 or 0.47% of the total adult population of Queensland.
