Research
The Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation undertakes an extensive research program, which involves population and industry surveys as well as providing grants to external organisations.
Research Program
The Responsible Gambling Research Program is designed to:
-
understand gambling activity and issues within the adult Queensland population as well as other groups;
-
explore the dynamics of the gaming machine industry; and
-
research other topics of interest.
Research is undertaken to gather evidence:
-
to inform the development of government policies and programs; and
-
to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of these initiatives.
Research Grants
As part of the research program, expressions of interest are called for the Responsible Gambling Research Grants Program. The purpose of the grants program is to:
-
elevate the quality and quantity of gambling related research in Queensland, and;
-
contribute to the making of effective gambling policy in Queensland.
